Primary School Tag Rugby

Mosslands hosted its annual Year 5/6 tag rugby competition on Wednesday 13th October

Mosslands hosted its annual year 5/6 tag rugby competition on Wednesday 13th October. Unfortunately Liscard Primary unable to raise a team and the teacher from St Georges being taken ill it was left to New Brighton and Somerville primary schools to battle it out.

Both schools demonstrated some excellent skills during the afternoon, made more impressive by the fact that this was the first competition following only one or two training sessions for most of the boys and girls taking part.

The game was played in extremely good spirit and enjoyed by all involved. New Brighton eventually scraped the win in a very tightly contested match. Both teams though will go through to the next stage of the competition at Birkenhead Park Rugby Club next week and are only 4 stages away from winning the chance to play at Twickenham before a professional match.
