LIPA Education Tour

Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts Community Drama students visited the school with a range of performances aimed at Year 7 and Year 10

On Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th November we were pleased to welcome Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts Community Drama students into school for a Theatre in Education Tour with a range of performances aimed at Year 7 and Year 10.

The Year 7 performances focused on a year 7 survival guide which looked at PSHEE topics that included the well being of the child and relationships with others.. The piece was able to create an awareness that students are not on their own during the process of starting a new school, and that it can be a pleasant experience. Pupils also enjoyed a horrible histories style performance about the Peasants Revolt, and explored past beliefs and social structures of England in the 1300’s.

The Year 10 performances explored Human Rights and also Personal Finance. The Human Rights performance explored a sounder understanding of how they work in society and the importance of respecting rights. The UN and contemporary Political Human Rights issues were also explored. The financial capability performance focused on helping pupils understand financial risk and reward, and how finance plays an important part in their lives and in achieving their aspirations.
