Year 12 students took the opportunity to attend the Nuffield Bursary celebration event  at the World Museum, in Liverpool.

Nuffield LogoYear 12 students Alex Segar, Joshua Simpson, Daniel Shakeshaft, Matthew Thornton, Jake Broster and Jack Sharpen took the opportunity to attend the Nuffield Bursary celebration event on the evening of Wednesday October 17th at the World Museum, William Brown Street, in Liverpool. This provided students with the opportunity to investigate the wide range of research projects undertaken through the scheme and whether they would like to apply for the 2013 Nuffield Bursary Scheme.

The scheme is an opportunity for successful students to work alongside scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians. A Nuffield Bursary is not work experience, but an opportunity for students to work alongside professionals on research projects. If successful in the application process students will receive a bursary of £80 per week to support them during their project with travel and subsistence. Projects run for a period of 4 weeks during the summer holiday period.

Success applicants will get hands-on experience of a professional research environment and a valuable insight into the many careers available. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people and learn new skills. . A passion for any STEM is the main thing.

Good Luck to the students in their applications.
