Courtesy of Toyota and the World Rally Championship, 14 Year 10 Design and Technology students had a unique opportunity to view engineering and design in the “raw”.  With privileged passes to visit Parc Ferme, at the Welsh Rally stage, they viewed state of the art rally cars, support vehicles and the mechanics village. The aim of the day was to give students an exciting and memorable experience that would inspire and motivate them to continue with their studies Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).   Our students particularly enjoyed sitting in a rally car and “driving” through a simulation and equally took on the many challenges that the event offered including model car racing against the Head of DT Mr Jones!  At the end of a cold and blowy day the students said….”it was great fun and an amazing experience that will help us enormously with our GCSE project”
