The Mosslands School in conjunction with the Debating Union at the University of Liverpool and ‘Debate Mate’ an educational charity who support the teaching of debating skills, have set up a Debating Club in school. This is a great opportunity for pupils to develop their speaking and listening skills further.

Our pupils in the Debating Club have received coaching every Tuesday in AX0 after school, in the skills and techniques of debating and helping them to develop the hard and soft skills that debating builds.

The club itself will meet in AXO every Tuesday evening at 3.10pm. For more information please speak to Mrs Roberts or Mr Taylor.

This week The Mosslands School sent two debating teams to compete in the first round of the 'Artemis Urban Debate League'  against schools across Liverpool.

Both teams performed exceptionally well, winning three out of four debates. The winner of the league will then be invited to a finals day in London at the offices of a corporate law firm.

Congratulations to all involved! Keep up the hard work!

The school will also compete, in April, in the Debate Mate Cup, a knock-out competition that takes place in Manchester.
