Non Uniform Day

Non Uniform Day to support Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Non Uniform Day to support Guide Dogs for the Blind

               Friday 12th February 2016.

Mosslands School has had a proud history over past years of supporting Guide Dogs for the Blind.  This charity is close to the heart of the area, as it was founded here in Wallasey in 1931 by two British pioneers, Muriel Crooke and Rosamund Bond.

Mrs Kemp, the Pastoral Support Officer for Faraday House, is a Guide Dog Puppy walker and trainer and has a fantastic success rate in raising a number of wonderful dogs that have gone on to support individuals in their daily lives.

Mosslands School is currently playing host to Mrs Kemp’s latest addition, Verdi, a beautiful 11 week old black pup.  Verdi is Mrs Kemp’s 6th puppy and is in the early stages of her training.  Mrs Kemp is confident that she has another successful Guide Dog in the making.

Our students will be having a Non Uniform Day on Friday 12th February (prior to February half term) and we would encourage the students to bring a donation of £1 into school on that day.  All the donations will go towards supporting this worthy cause and we hope that the students will support this event.
