May Half Term

Dear Parents and Carers

I hope that you and your families are continuing to stay safe and well.  I know that you will have received a phone call from your son’s house office, but please remember that if there is anything that we, as a school can do, we are still here to help.  Contact us by email or telephone between 08.30am until 2.30pm (except on Bank Holiday Monday 25th May).

As we prepare for some re-engagement for year 10 and 12 students over the coming weeks, it would be good to spend a little time with your son talking through his worries and expectations about coming back to school and reassuring him that we will not be opening unless it is safe to do so.  I understand that for some, accessing and completing work has been stressful and while I urge you not to let your son become overly anxious, it is important that he keeps practising and learning. If you would like some paper based work, new packs will be available to collect from the school office after half term.

Whilst the school remains open for a very small number of eligible and registered children over the half term break (26th- 29th May), teachers will not be setting any additional work for this period.  Work setting will resume on Monday 1st June.  I will be writing separately to year 10 and 12 students to give more information about how we will resume studies in the summer, later this week.

I would once again like to thank all of the parents who have sent in kind messages; your support is greatly appreciated.  I would also like to congratulate those pupils who have received commendations for outstanding work and to thank you all for ensuring that our boys stay safe and occupied by continuing to keep them at home whenever possible, I know it isn’t easy.

Please stay safe and keep well.

Yours sincerely

Mr Adrian Whiteley
