Mosslands is still, as far as we know, the only school on the Wirral to offer fencing. We now run fourteen competitions in school over the year (a team event and an individual event for each year group in epee and then a whole school event for Epee and another for Sabre).
Mosslands Fencing Club started in January of 2010. The school was able to purchase equipment for the club thanks to the extended schools project including four wireless electric scoring boxes, epees and protective clothing. Coaching has been provided by Paul Court, from
Swords Fencing Club Wallasey, who has been taking the students through the first steps in Epee and Sabre fencing.
Many of the pupils attending the club are aiming to enter local open fencing competitions and results from these will be posted here as we get them. The club runs on a Wednesday after school in the new sports hall from 3.30 - 5.30 and is £3 a session. If you are interested in joining the club, or would like to help out please contact Mr. Woodward.
