Key Stage 3
All pupils follow an Art and Design skill based course that introduces a broad and varied range of traditional media and techniques, as well as the use of digital software, in the three main subject areas of Fine Art, Graphic Design and 3D Sculpture.
Pupils are then challenged to apply what they have learnt by responding creatively to carefully structured and stimulating projects.
Throughout the course an emphasis is placed on the importance of drawing and the recording of information from direct observation.
All projects and assignments are linked to the work of different artists, designers, genre, periods of history and world cultures.
The Key Stage 3 course provides a clear insight and appreciation of the many applications of Art and Design and forms a solid foundation for further study at Key Stage 4 and Post 16.
