Key Stage 4
At Key Stage 4 Art and Design is a popular subject option and GCSEs are offered in the following endorsed areas; General Art and Design, Fine Art Painting and Drawing, and Art and Design Graphics.
Students follow a chosen course that capitalises on their subject expertise as identified and developed at Key Stage 3.
The GCSE course is completely practical and consists of two coursework projects and one final controlled test.
The key to success at GCSE is to account for the creative development of an idea and so students are expected to develop their own response to an Art and Design Brief specific to their subject area.
Each teaching group is taught by the same member of staff for the duration of the two year course.
