Two routes of progression are offered at Sixth Form Level; ‘A’ Level Fine Art and a BTEC Diploma Level Two.

‘A’ Level Fine Art is a two year course that offers ‘AS’ certification at the end of the first year and ‘A2’ certification after the second year.
 
The ‘AS’ course has a strong focus on drawing and painting, which includes a compulsory Still Life component followed by a further two optional elements from the themes of Landscape, Figurative/Portraiture, 3D/Sculpture and Decorative/Abstract Art.
 
During the second year of the course at ‘A2’, students are expected to develop their own artistic investigations in a preferred area of interest. This also needs to be supported by a written study.The BTEC Diploma course is a one year course that is offered as part of the Wallasey Consortium Sixth Form provision. Successful completion of the course earns a qualification that is equal to Four GCSEs at A to C grade.
 
During the course students are introduced to a variety of different areas of Art and Design including: Fine Art, Photography, Digital software, Ceramics/3D, and Textile decorative design.Past Students from both courses have gone on to continue their studies in every area of Art and Design.
