1959 - Present

The school population was around 500 with 20 staff. The Headteacher Mr Kenneth Williams, though proud of his school was never satisfied in its perceived third place in a town of two other grammar schools. Eventually in 1959 the council conferred parity and the only Technical Grammar School in the country was established. The new headmaster J D Petit joined the school in 1961 and it was he who steered the school to its prominent position. Re –organising the pastoral structure of the school into is unique vertical structure of three houses. Mr Petit prepared for the coming comprehensive system. 

Wallasey chose a Middle School system and the school changed its name for the fourth time to Mosslands Senior comprehensive. The school continued to build on its reputation under the leadership of Headmaster, Mr William Mitchell as Wallasey once again re-organised into 11 – 18 schools.
 
The now Mosslands School occupied two sites with a population of 1250 boys, a mixed sixth form and a staff of 100+.
 
 
 
 
The Headteacher, Mr Gordon Fair took the school to one site and a massive rebuild took place re–equipping the school with magnificent science laboratories, art studios, music suites, computer rooms and a library. Extensions provided rooms for humanities and improvements to Modern Languages, Maths and English. In 2004 The Mosslands School became a specialist Technology College, building upon strengths in Mathematics, Science and Technology.
 

 

In a changing environment the school has constantly adapted, determined to maintain its prominent position, build upon the long establish traditions of excellence and to serve pupils at all levels.
