‘AS’ and ‘A2’ Music Edexcel is the course available at Mosslands. The ‘AS’ is a part of the New GCE qualification and these courses encourage students to extend the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to communicate through music and take part in music making. It encourages students to engage in, and extend their appreciation of, the diverse and dynamic heritage of music, promoting spiritual and cultural development.
Students develop particular strengths and interests, encouraging lifelong learning and providing access to music-related careers providing a worthwhile, satisfying and complete course of study, which broadens experience, develops imagination, fosters creativity and promotes personal and social development. They also extend the knowledge, skills and understanding developed in the ‘AS’ course, providing a basis for further study. Students have progressed on into careers and further study in Music post 18 following GCSE and ‘A’ level study.
