Message from Mr Whiteley
As we come to the end of another term, I would like to thank you once again for your support and for the many kind messages we received throughout the term and during the inspection visit. School finishes today at 12.40pm.
Over the Easter break, tuition sessions will be running for Y11 students. All students should be aware of the timing of their sessions, which should have been booked through the links sent out last week. All sessions will be in the sixth form centre and to comply with health and safety regulations, only students booked into the sessions will be admitted. If you need assistance with bookings, please contact Mr Baas or the school office.
I would like to congratulate the Y10 pupils for completing their work experience with such success. The feedback from placements has been overwhelmingly positive, with the vast majority of students showing that they are mature and confident, which suggests that their futures will be bright. I would also like to thank all parents and families for their support in helping this process run smoothly. This is the first year since the pandemic that we have been able to run the work experience programme, and we were worried that employers would not engage in the way they used to. However, we shouldn’t have worried as they have been fabulous, and my thanks go to all the companies who opened their doors to our students. I would encourage Y9 pupils and their families to start thinking about where they might like to spend their work experience next year.
As you will be aware, school is not open for students on Monday 15th April, as we are training for the switch to a new management information system. This is partly in response to issues raised by parents having problems accessing the different platforms we currently operate. This new system will be implemented in stages over the summer term so that, in the new academic year, we will have a single, high-performing system that will improve the way we communicate.
School reopens for all students on Tuesday 16th April at the normal time. Until then, I wish you and your families a restful and enjoyable Easter break.
