AS Level Applied Science students visit Fiddlers Ferry Power Station as part of their course

Fiddlers Ferry Power StationOn Wednesday 1st December a number of AS level Applied Science students visited Fiddlers Ferry Power Station as part of their course. As well as taking a tour of the site they learnt want it takes to run a modern day power station, and learnt about Science in the workplace and the importance of health and safety.

Fiddlers Ferry Power Station, a coal fired power station located in Widnes,  also uses renewable energy by co-firingbiomass. The station has a generating capacity of 1,989 megawatts (MW).Since 2004, Scottish and Southern Energy plc have operated the station.
