57% gained 5 GCSE's A*-C inc. Eng. & Maths

75% gained 5 GCSE's A*-C

gcse resultsThe Mosslands School is celebrating its best ever GCSE results with over 57% achieving 5 A*-C GCSE’s including English and Mathematics with 75% of students gaining 5 or more GCSE’s A*-C. 

Headteacher Mark Rodaway commented: “I am delighted with these results, which are testimony to the hard work and effort of our students, their parents and all the staff at the school. In 2009 OFSTED highlighted that we were a rapidly improving school. Since 2006 we have improved our headline figure of 5A*-C with English and Mathematics by over 23%. We focus on preparing our students for future employability ensuring that virtually every student leaves the school with a qualification in literacy and numeracy. Over 97% of our students gained 5 GCSE’s A*-G.” 

A number of students achieved the highest grade at GCSE level of an A*. These included:

Owen Hyland gained 7A*’s and 4A’s

Luke Dunderdale gained 1A*, 5A’s and 4B’s

Daniel Edwards gained 2A*’s, 3A’s and 4B’s

Alex Farrell Webb gained 4A*’s, 4A’s and 2B’s

Liam Forshaw 5A*’s and 3 A’s

Jonathan Fulton gained 1A*, 6A’s and 1B

Tom Jones gained 3A*’s 2A’s and 2B’s

Sean Kirby gained 2A*’s, 1A and 6B’s

Alex McCarron gained 3A*’s, 2A’s and 4B’s

Alan Moran gained 1A*, 5A’s and 3B’s

Nicholas Morris gained 1A*, 2A’s and 4B’s

Daniel Peek gained 4A*’s, 2A’s and 2B’s

Excellent Results
Gaining a GCSE in year 8

The Mosslands School provides opportunities for students to develop their interests and skills irrespective of age. A number of students achieved GCSE passes in Year 8, 9 and 10. George Rogers in Year 8 achieved a pass grade in Astronomy, a subject taken by the most able Mathematicians in Years 10 and 11, and Elliot Morgan, Year 8, gained a B grade in GCSE Spanish.
