Year 12 Physics AS level students attended an Institute of Physics lecture at West Kirby Grammar School entitled 'Defying Gravity'. It was an exciting, interactive talk that built on everyday physics to explain groundbreaking research.

Students found out how scientists and engineers are using physics to explore the cosmos. The lecture revealed how physics has allowed us to travel into space, how scientists have created materials to withstand the extreme conditions above Earths atmosphere, and how entrepeneurs are opening up space to a new generation through space tourism.

The lecture involved hands on demonstrations, experiments and multimedia elerments.
