Students will recieve an award after entering an intergenerational arts competition.

The process involved discussion on how we could find out information about the things their Grandparents, Aunties and Uncles did when they were growing up. For this purpose the decision was made to start the ‘Journey’ in 1950.

They then produced a questionnaire which enabled them to collect as much information as possible about, school, technology, fashion, leisure facilities, transport, music, games etc.

The group decided to visually display their findings by using images from the internet to make a paper mosaic called ‘Bridging the Gap’ This shows the photographic journey from the 1950’s in monochrome across the bridge to present day in full colour.

Their entry was awarded a ‘Generate Award’ and they will each be presented with a certificate at the Generate Awards Event 29th April 2013.
