Four of our students attended the local government’s Youth voice conference. It was a huge event at Wallasey town hall attended by over 15 schools from the local area.

The student were treated to drama and dance shows about themes that affect teenagers today. They were also split into seminar groups about diverse topics such as gang culture, media pressure on teenagers and bullying. They took part in interesting and thought provoking sessions that promoted mature and thoughtful insight into student lives on the Wirral.

The highlight of the day was an open mic session. Students were honoured to be able to put their questions directly to a panel of high powered officials. Panellists included the chief of local police, the head of Merseytravel, The head of student services from Wirral council and local council members.

It was a fantastic event where top ranked officials got to hear opinions of young people first hand. Some very demanding questioning lead panel members to take more consideration of young people’s opinions and hopefully change the future for local teenagers.

Our four representatives were a credit to the school and behaved impeccably.
Well done to all
