The Wallasey Lions have very kindly donated two Quick Hit Wheelchairs to The Mosslands School. The special sports wheelchairs cost £500 each and are much lighter and faster than standard electric wheelchairs. Due to this kind donation from The Wallasey Lions, it enables The Mosslands School charity Embrace to continue its positive work to ensure that all Physical Education lessons are inclusive to all its pupils.

When the charity Embrace was first set up, one of its aims was to own six specialist wheelchairs, which has now been achieved. This allows The Mosslands School to raise awareness of disability sports; it gives the opportunity for more pupils to participate in the inclusive sports games and enables more boys to partake when in professional adapted courses.

Teaching assistants Claire Cottrell and Margaret Oldfield said: “The sports wheelchairs have been a massive success. All the boys love joining in with the adapted wheelchair sports as they all have so much fun, it positively develops the pupils team work, communication skills and enhances their confidence.
