The Mosslands School community is celebrating unprecedented results from our amazing Year 13 students this year. The school has outperformed all other Wirral non- selective schools and academies in terms of average points per A level student, average point per academic student and average points per vocational student.

Congratulations must go to Alex Segar with A* for Maths, Further Maths and Physics, securing his place at Oxford to study Maths. Matthew Thompson achieved A* for Maths and Physics with grade A for Further Maths; he will be taking up his place at Cambridge to study Engineering.

Josh Keatley also achieved outstanding grades with A* for Maths and Further Maths with a grade A for Geography; he will be studying Maths at Liverpool University. This was on top of all three boys being part of the Lands End to John O’Groats cycle ride which has raised over £7000 for the charity Mind earlier in the summer. They were part of a record breaking Further Maths class, where all ten students achieved A* or A grades for their Maths A level as well as grades A*, A and B for their Further Maths. All students in this class are now going on to study Maths or Engineering at some of the country’s top universities including Bristol, York and Sheffield.

The results for Art were also unprecedented with more than half of the students achieving A* or A grades including Jon Edgley, Callum Morley, Callum Parry and Peter McGinnity. Many of these students are going on to study a one-year foundation course in Art and Design at Wirral Met, before going on to university next year.

Mrs Cassidy has been ecstatic over the results for ICT where 11 of the 18 BTEC students achieved distinction *, with a further 5 getting a double distinction * including Kelly Shaw and Adam Kirby. In addition, 100% of A level students gained grades B or C for ICT including Matthew Winter and Andrew Blanchard.

Mr Whiteley expressed his pride in the achievements of students and staff and wished all students the best of luck in future, not that they will need it!
