YEAR 12 SPORTS STUDENTS MEET ECHO SPORTS REPORTER

This week our sports students were treated to a lecture from Chris Beesley, football writer for the Liverpool Echo.

This week our sports students were treated to a lecture from Chris Beesley, football writer for the Liverpool Echo.

He entertained students with stories of his career so far in the sports journalism world. Students were inspired

with stories of famous players and managers that Chris has worked with over his career.

The Echo writer was in to talk to students about the changing face of sports journalism. He explained how many contemporary issues are effecting the football world. Students heard how new media such as twitter are greatly changing how people want information about football and how it has changed his job.

They had a very interesting Q and A session where students asked mature and interesting questions about varied subjects such as media training in football, Steven Gerrard's move to LA Galaxy, the press rumour mill and press access to top football clubs.

The talk was extremely relevant and interesting and left some student's more interested in a career in sports journalism.
