Mosslands School is committed to providing the best possible careers advice and guidance to all students. As part of our on-going partnership with LJMU, we have been providing opportunities for cohorts of students to experience first-hand what university life is like. As part of the ‘Dream Plan Achieve’ programme we were pleased to take a group of year 10 pupils over to the Byrom Street campus on Tuesday 19th May. Opportunities like this help pupils make informed decisions about their futures.

Within our Careers and PSHE programme pupils are given support and encouraged to start exploring careers and course choices early. On their second visit to LJMU pupils undertook activities exploring careers, finance and budgeting. They were also given the opportunity to speak to student advocates about the different routes to university while learning about courses such as; Biology and Bio Technology, Policing Studies, and Animal Behaviour and Welfare.

Tom year 10 said; ‘ We learnt a lot about what student life is like at university by speaking to students and also having a tour of the different facilities and accommodation available to students. I learnt a lot about the wide range of courses available and the value of a degree for future jobs.’
