Higher Education Conference

Sixth Form students studying A levels attended the Merseyside Higher Education Conference, which was aimed at students thinking of making an application to start at university in 2011.

On Thursday 17th June Sixth Form students studying A levels attended the Merseyside Higher Education Conference at the University of Liverpool which was aimed at students thinking of making an application to start at university in 2011.

We gave students the opportunity to attend the Conference as we know it can help them to research their choice of courses and universities.

The Conference itself had two main parts:-
  1. There was a ‘Marketplace’ where representatives from over 100 universities and colleges of higher education in the UK were situated. Students were able to talk to representatives, ask questions as well as taking copies of prospectuses.
  2. The second part of the Conference was a series of presentations on a wide range of subjects studied in higher education. All the speakers made their talks relevant to their subject in all universities.
Follow up sessions will be taking place in school to support students with the application process.
