Sir, I didn't do it!

Thirty of our most dedicated Year 9 Science Students, were taken off timetable and for an entire day and taught the forensic arts of scientific detection.

Think Forensic comes to Mosslands

Forensic ScienceThis is a saying often heard around school and as a teacher I’m sure it’s “always” true. However guilty parties now need to be afraid, very afraid.

Thirty of our most dedicated Year 9 Science Students, were taken off timetable and for an entire day and taught the forensic arts of scientific detection.

Following the adage “every contact leaves a trace” and under the guidance of the think forensic scientists (Ex Police officers and forensic personnel) www.thinkforensic.co.uk, the budding CSI lads, were taught how to use various methods to identify and lift finger prints, handling evidence protocols, crime scene management and the use of blood spatter patterns.

The boys had these thoughts about the day

“I ended up with a cool plaster cast of a foot print and a set of my own finger prints !”

“The course was fantastic and we leant loads, I would love to do this as a job but I’m a bit squeamish”

“I thought that the Forensics day was really good an helped me know what goes on at a crime scene and how it could help me join the Police”

“The Think Forensic Science day was really good and it gives you a little bit of an idea of what C.S.I. is like”

The aim of the day was to highlight how Science is implemented and used in the World at large and all the lads had a great time but beware; Mosslands now has 30 young Forensic Scientists who can prove your innocence or GUILT.
