Mosslands students 'making it'Eight Year 9 Mosslands pupils (Aaron Kilby, Thomas McGinn, Harry Johnstone, Ted Richardson, Charlie Campbell, Lewis Hewson, Dominic Ward and Christian Watts) took part in the URENCO and Manufacturing Institute sponsored challenge.

The ‘Make It’ Enterprising Challenge was a competition to encourage teams of young people from fifteen local schools to set up their own mini manufacturing businesses, and test their powers of innovation, creativity and teamwork. The day was also designed to ensure that young people gain a greater understanding of the range of jobs available within the sector. Each member of the team was asked to match their own skills and qualities to those covered by a choice of job roles including Managing Director, Finance Director, Sales and Marketing Managers, Design Engineer, Logistics Manager and Health and Safety Manager.

During the day the teams competed to create a new product for URENCO, and were judged on their understanding of the design brief. The Mosslands team scored well and delivered an excellent pitch to a group of URENCO dragons. All the pupils received a certificate for taking part.
