Pupils from Mosslands School visited the 'Can Cook' studios in Liverpool on 25th February

Mosslands students preparing foodPupils from Mosslands School visited the 'Can Cook' studios in Liverpool on 25th February to take part in a day of activities all about enjoying and getting stuck in with food - teaching anyone and everyone to cook!

The group were quickly introduced to the skills and techniques to enable them to produce a variety of dishes throughout the course of the day by the resident Chef. The Chef then gave a quick introduction to the kitchen and each workstation before pupils went straight into a demonstration of the first dish.

Following the demonstration pupils went to their workstation to get stuck in and start cooking their lunch! After lunch and a final demonstration from the Chef, pupils were back at their workstation to complete their meals. To end the day the pupils were back at the dining area to enjoy their final meal and ask the Chef any questions that they still had. The pupils were able to take anything they hadn't eaten home to share with friends or family.

All of the pupils taking part in the activity day have been involved in the Aimhigher Associates scheme and were helped out during the day by their undergraduate mentors.

Leigh O'Mahony, Aimhigher Associate for Mosslands School explains "The day was a fantastic success. All of the boys really enjoyed themselves and learned lots of new skills."
