Josh Hart - England U18 GoalkeeperAFTER missing out because of a postponed game against Australia, Mosslands School and Merseyside under-18 goalkeeper Josh Hart finally made his England debut. The Wallasey youngster received his schoolboy international cap after playing a part in both tour games.

The team beat Malaga 4-1 and, at the rock, Gibraltar 1-0, although once again, poor conditions nearly intervened.

“Not all went to plan,” said Widnes headteacher and England assistant manager Andy Williams.

“Our intensive training and preparation was disrupted by the weather, there was plenty of rain and wind all week.

“We arrived in Gibraltar and thought the game may be cancelled because of a severe weather warning.

“However, it did eventually go ahead, Josh making a second-half appearance to gain his cap against a resolute defensive Gibraltar side.

“Caps are only awarded against international opposition and not club sides.”
