“Determination”

On Friday 6th June, to an assembled audience, Sam, Dan and Tom Lloyd had the pleasure of unveiling a fantastic piece of artwork which has been donated to the fundraising campaign for Claire House by the world famous artist, Michael Craig Martin.

Professor Martin heard about the project being undertaking to celebrate the time that Sam, Dan and Tom have had at Mosslands, which totals 21 years.  He was so impressed by their determination to succeed in their endeavours, he donated a signed, limited edition print of his famous art installation “KIDS.”  The print will be used to help raise funds for the Claire House charity that supports sick children and their families.

Meanwhile, work storms ahead with Mosslands own version of a Michael Craig Martin inspired installation. The side of the sports hall in the Junior Yard is undergoing a major face lift with the production of a huge mural entitled ‘DETERMINATION.’  The design and production of the work has been put together by Mr P Fife and students of the art department.

The process of producing the art work has involved many hours of preparation and the painting is being completed by staff and students alike.  The mural is striking and can be seen by thousands of commuters each day who use the Merseyrail, Wirral Line.  It is hoped that work will be complete on the installation by the beginning of July and will stand as a testament to all those involved in the project.
