Sixth Form Council meeting – Wednesday 16th September

The first Sixth Form council meeting of the year took place this week with each form tutor group across Years 12 and 13 represented. The purpose of the council is to provide strategic leadership for the Sixth Form students with regard to the Sixth Form centre and its’ facilities, and to also raise issues and/or concerns with the Directors of Sixth Form about their educational well-being. Chaired by Head prefect Jack Roberts, the meeting focussed upon the renovation of the Sixth Form centre and the establishment of a working party to plan and design the refurbishment. The council members, all elected after nominations from their peers, spoke very candidly and honestly expressing views and opinions with real intent and professionalism. Mrs Danher and Mr Jones left the meeting impressed by the approach of all members to discussions, and the will that exists within the Sixth Form to continue to make improvements for all students.
