The Mosslands Senior Chess Tournament came to an exciting conclusion on Tuesday 6th December.  This year, we accepted entries from some of the younger boys and Jake Copeland in 9R2 actually made it all the way to the final.  The match of the tournament was the quarterfinal between last year's winner Lance Jones (U6G) and Josh Lemley (10G).  In numerous matches, Josh had never beaten Lance, but he raised his game  and won the match, before being knocked out by Jake in the semi-final.  In the other half of the draw, Jose Recalde was taking no prisoners, carving his way through the opposition, all the way to the final.  Jake made a match of it, but in the end the game went Jose's way and he was crowned the senior champion.
