GCSE Results Day Info 2019

Thursday 22nd August 2019

  • Where do I get my results?

Results will be available in the Sixth Form Centre from 10.00am.  You should go to the room designated for your House Office where staff will issue results.

  • What do I do when I have received my results and I am intending to leave Mosslands?

There will be a member of staff present who will take details of where you are going to.  It is important to confirm this, even if you think we know already.

  • What do I do when I have received my results and I wish to return to Mosslands Sixth Form?

Please ensure you see Mrs C. Danher with whom you can confirm this information and discuss any urgent problems.  Full enrolment onto courses will take place at the beginning of term, following a briefing during which everything will be explained in detail.

  • What do I do if I don’t know what I’m doing next or if my exams results mean that I cannot follow my original plan?

Speak to the Careers Adviser about what your options are.  If there have been changes to your choice of courses but you are staying at Mosslands, you can discuss these changes with Mrs C. Danher on results day.  If we detect serious issues with your results, we will ask to speak to you for longer on results day.

  • What do I do if I’m going to be away on holiday on results day?

Make alternative arrangements to obtain your results.  A relative or friend can collect them, with written permission from you, or you can have them posted to your home address.  To receive them through the post, you should hand in a stamped addressed envelope to the Exams Officer before the end of term

Sixth Form Induction Meeting

Once you have spoken to Mrs C Danher, you will be given more specific details about what day and time to attend in September.  On this day you should be dressed in your school clothes and should report to the Main Hall.

You will be briefed about Sixth Form and told how to enrol on your courses.  You will also find out what is happening for the remainder of the week.

Representatives from The Protective Services Academy, EVO Sports and The Engineering College will be available on the day if you need to speak to them.

Sixth Form Dress Code:

When you are shopping in the Summer, please remember that you are required to observe the Sixth Form dress code and make sure that you buy appropriate clothes:

Students are expected to maintain a standard of dress and appearance appropriate to a professional work placement.  For male students this is a conventional suit, shirt and ties.  Jeans and trainers are not acceptable and extremes of hairstyle should be avoided.  For both sexes, common sense should prevail and a smart, tidy appearance is expected.  EVO Sports and PSA students are expected to wear the official kit.  Until they receive this, they should wear smart, appropriate sports clothing.

The piercings rule for Sixth Form is that, for students with pierced ears, one stud in either or both ears is allowed.  No other piercings are allowed.  Extremes of hairstyle are not acceptable, so don’t do anything outrageous with your hair towards the end of the Summer holidays.

It is not advisable to be away on holiday at the beginning of term in September as this will affect how well you are able to settle into your new courses.

For any further information, please speak to Mrs C. Danher or your Form Tutor.
