As we look to the start of the festive period, I would urge parents and carers to be aware of the charitable activities and events happening over the coming weeks. We will be running a range of collections and fundraising activities to support the elderly and vulnerable and your support, as ever, is greatly appreciated, it really does make a difference.
We were visited earlier this month by a Challenge Partners review team. This involved a group of 5 school leaders from schools across the country, led by an experienced Ofsted lead inspector visiting the school over three days to look at our provision. Over the course of the visit, they visited numerous lessons (period 1-6 on Tuesday and 1-3 on Wednesday) and spoke to staff and groups of students.
The report made very positive reading. Some of their comments are below:
"The relationships between staff and students are highly positive, built on mutual respect."
"Students are becoming more invested in their education, evidenced in their
improved work ethic."
“In most lessons, students exhibit a very positive attitude to learning.”
“Students’ books indicate accurate use of feedback and assessments which are helping students to improve their work and informing teachers about their progress. Across all subjects, good quality presentation in books is the norm.”
We are pleased with this report, it recognised the hard work we have put in to regaining the balance that has been upset on a national level during and since the COVID-19 lockdowns.
