6th Form Open Evening

Don't forget this event is happening tonight in school 6 to 8pm. See our website for more details.

Futures Day

On Thursday 14th December, Year 11 will be taking part in 'Futures Day'. They will spend the day seeing what being a sixth former at Mosslands is all about. They have chosen subjects they are interested in and our teachers are busy planning taster sessions. If your son would like to change the options he has previously chosen, please ask him to see Miss Carty.

Christmas Dinner

Due to issues in the kitchen this week, Christmas dinner will be served on Friday 8th December and not today as originally planned.

Ski Trip

Thank you to all parents who paid the deposit for the ski trip to Austria 2025.  As many of you will be aware, the deposit was extended to Friday 1st December to give families more time to generate the funds.  The trip is oversubscribed, which means there will have to be an open, fair selection process to determine the final list of students, with the remainder placed on a reserve list.  Following a consultation with key members of staff, places on the trip will be confirmed by Wednesday 13th December.  Thank you for your patience in this matter.

Year 7 Visit to The World Museum & Liverpool Central Library

On Tuesday and Wednesday this week, all Y7 students will be visiting the World Museum and Central Library in Liverpool. X Band students will go on Tuesday with Y band boys going on Wednesday. Boys will need a packed lunch, grab bags will be provided for boys entitled to free school meals.

More Trips!

It is the turn of 8X3 to visit the International Slavery Museum on Friday 15th December.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, there are trips to Pilgrim Foods and LJMU organised by our Careers Department.

On Wednesday, history students from years 12 & 13 are visiting Liverpool University as part of their outreach programme.

Santa Dash

Final preparations are being made for the Santa Dash on Tuesday morning. Students taking part should donate £1 or an item of food to go in the Christmas hampers. Students can get more details from their form tutor.

Students who are not taking part in the event, can still bring in items of Christmas food for the hampers.

The Woman in Black

Mrs Brett took a group of students to see the terrifying Woman in Black at the Liverpool Playhouse on Tuesday evening. It was a spine-chilling performance, enjoyed by all.

LIPA Visit

This week, we had the incredible team from LIPA in school to perform for our students.  The performance was about human rights and the importance of self-expression and opinion.

It is our duty to keep your child safe, so if you do not inform us, you will receive a truancy call. You will receive 6 further calls until you respond.  The number which will display as an incoming call is a Sheffield number, 0114 303 4042.

Medication in School

If you have any questions or concerns regarding medication in school, please contact the SEND Department. Students should not bring medication into school and any medication should be registered at reception. If your child is diagnosed as being asthmatic, following on from medical guidelines, please ensure they have an inhaler on then at all times and that we hold a spare within school. Many thanks.
