MCAS

Most of the trips are now on the MCAS app. The remaining ones will be added over the next few days. Thank you for your patience.

Students in years 8 & 9 will be able to book a seat on the bus for the final of the Wirral Cup tomorrow morning (subject to the result of the Y8 match tonight). Y9 are already through and will be playing at Prenton Park on Tuesday. More details have been emailed home to parents of Y8&9 students.

Free School Meals

Students eligible for free school meals can spend up to £3.00 during the lunch service.  Any items over this value are chargeable and any items purchased at breakfast or break time will also be charged.  If you wish your son to be able to purchase additional items, please ensure he has money on his account. There is no facility for students to go overdrawn. Thank you for your support in this matter.

Duke of Edinburgh's Bronze Award

There will be a meeting for students on Wednesday after school, where important information on the expedition and training dates will be given out. Expedition groups will also be put together that day, so it is important all participants attend the meeting. Payment for the expedition will be available on MCAS next week.

Library

In honour of Star Wars Day on May the 4th, our next Book of the Week is a graphic novel Star Wars: Han Solo. Everyone's favourite scoundrel goes Solo! Han is given a top-secret undercover mission for the Rebellion: rescuing a group of informants and spies. His cover for the assignment? The biggest and most infamous starship race in the galaxy, the Dragon Void. A tournament he has dreamt of winning his entire life. With a chance for glory square in his sights, can Han keep his mind on the mission? Or is failing Leia worse than losing his chance? This book is available for students to read in the library now!

On Friday 27th June, our students will be supporting Wallasey Village Library and Community Centre by completing a Readathon throughout the day. All the money raised by our students will go towards Wallasey Village Library's own Readathon, which they are completing on Saturday 11th June in the hope of raising some much-needed funds for the library.  If you would like to donate to this wonderful cause, please click this link:

As part of our strategy for careers, we want to track your destination over 3 years from when you leave us. This helps us learn about what you are doing and to evaluate how successful our guidance was.
By completing this form you are agreeing for us to continue to do this for up to 3 years after leaving Mosslands School.
This also allows us to keep in touch with you and signpost careers support if you need it. We will contact all school-leavers on the first working day after 1st July each year via text/email. All we will need is a response, on a Google form, stating what you are currently doing.

Please complete the form to give your consent.

Our students are currently collecting stamps every morning and every afternoon they are in school. Students that have 100% attendance throughout May and June will each receive a prize in July.  Students are very excited about collecting their stamps and receiving their prize.

Reporting an Absence

Parents must telephone the school attendance line (0151 638 8131, option 1) on the first day of absence before 8.45am and on each subsequent day of absence. Alternatively, you can email attendance@mosslands.wirral.sch.uk. Please do not use the admin@mosslands email or the contact school option on the My Child at School app as these do not go directly to attendance, and you may still get a truancy call. It is our duty to keep your child safe, so if you do not inform us, you will receive a truancy call. You will receive 6 further calls until you respond.  The number which will display as an incoming call is a Sheffield number, 0114 303 4042.

Medication in School

If you have any questions or concerns regarding medication in school, please contact the SEND Department. Students should not bring medication into school and any medication should be registered at reception. If your child is diagnosed as being asthmatic, following on from medical guidelines, please ensure they have an inhaler on then at all times and that we hold a spare within school. Many thanks.
