An Unforgettable Trip to Paris 2025

Our recent school trip to Paris was extraordinary, offering students an incredible opportunity to immerse themselves in French culture while creating lasting memories.

The adventure began with a tour of the Stade de France before exploring the artistic region of Montmartre. The highlight was undoubtedly climbing the steps to the Sacré-Cœur Basilica for breathtaking views across Paris. Despite the temperatures, students showed great determination! We then ended the day watching the sunset in front of the glass pyramid at the world-famous Louvre Museum.

Day two featured a leisurely cruise along the River Seine, showcasing Paris's most famous monuments, followed by a visit to the Trocadéro Centre for a spectacular view of the Eiffel Tower. Then, we strolled to the famous Arc de Triomphe and the iconic Champs-Élysées for authentic shopping and dining. After an ice cream break in the heat, we concluded the day with unforgettable panoramic views of Paris from the 56th floor of Montparnasse Tower.

Our final day was dedicated to the magic of Disneyland, where students embraced their inner child and enjoyed thrilling rides with their friends. The joy and laughter throughout the park created the perfect finale to our Parisian adventure.

Throughout the trip, our pupils' behaviour was outstanding, especially during the heatwave! They showed maturity, respect, and enthusiasm, which made them a true credit to our school. This trip enhanced their understanding of French culture but also their ability to practise and speak French while building confidence, independence, and lasting friendships. We are incredibly proud of each student who participated in this unforgettable trip to Paris - thank you!

Munich Trip

Our students had a great time whilst in Munich. During the trip, our boys visited key sites associated with the Nazis from the Second World War, such as Hitler's Eagles Nest and Dachau Concentration Camp. These experiences were very moving for students and helped them to understand and visualise the work they have been doing in school.

Library

Our Book of the Week is the heartwarming and greatly illustrated novel The Wrong Shoes by Tom Percival. Will has the wrong shoes – he's always known it, but doesn't know how to change it. Navigating the difficulties of home and school when you feel you stick out is tough, but finding confidence with the help and empathy of friends can be all you need to see the way.  Available in the library now.

To help keep our students reading during the summer holidays, we have access to hundreds of eBooks and audiobooks with Sora. Students can access this at home by downloading the app and using their Google Classroom account to log in.

At The Mosslands School, we know how important it is to keep children reading, thinking and engaged over the summer holidays. That’s why we’re excited to offer all our students free access to First News – the UK’s award-winning newspaper for young people aged 7-14. The content is written with KS2 and KS3 in mind but we're confident that there's something for everyone, regardless of their age or reading level. Students can have unlimited access on up to five devices to the First News app from Thursday 10th July until Friday 5th September. Art Department

You can follow us on Instagram @art_mosslands to see some fabulous examples of the work produced by our students.

Reporting an Absence

Parents must telephone the school attendance line (0151 638 8131, option 1) on the first day of absence before 8.45am and on each subsequent day of absence. Alternatively, you can email attendance@mosslands.wirral.sch.uk. Please do not use the admin@mosslands email or the contact school option on the My Child at School app as these do not go directly to attendance, and you may still get a truancy call. It is our duty to keep your child safe, so if you do not inform us, you will receive a truancy call. You will receive 6 further calls until you respond.  The number which will display as an incoming call is a Sheffield number, 0114 303 4042.

Please be advised that if a student is absent from school for three consecutive days, a member of staff will carry out a home visit to check that everything is okay even if a phone call has already been received from a parent or carer.

This is part of our commitment to safeguarding and ensuring the wellbeing of all our students. We appreciate your understanding and support in this matter.

Medication in School

If you have any questions or concerns regarding medication in school, please contact the SEND Department. Students should not bring medication into school and any medication should be registered at reception. If your child is diagnosed as being asthmatic, following on from medical guidelines, please ensure they have an inhaler on then at all times and that we hold a spare within school. Many thanks.
