Tomorrow’s  Engineers -  Energy Quest

On Wednesday 4th October,  60  Year 7’s and 8’s went on an energy quest lead by “Tomorrow’s Engineers”!

Energy Quest is a schools programme that encourages young people to find out all about sustainable energy and learn about associated engineering careers.

The interactive STEM workshop was packed with hands-on activities, including drawing graphs, making predictions, making a mini electric car and running it under different conditions!

Reflections of their day:-

“My favourite bit was when we made the cars because it was fun to improve them, solve problems and piece them together.”   Keir

“Because I was taught by an Engineer, I felt like one too”    John

“Today, during our STEM activities we did many exciting things but my favourite part was learning about the different ways we use power”        Tom

“When I first heard that I was going to be spending the entire afternoon learning about Engineering, I thought that we would just sit there and listen to this person going on about electric cars and all that but I was wrong! We actually did lots of activities and learnt lots of new things.  This made me feel really proud, learning of new ways that energy is collected”    Jayson

“I’m excited for what I’ll learn next time and I would 100% recommend it to anyone who enjoys Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths and who likes having fun” Tyler
