Four Mosslands Students enjoy a University of Liverpool ‘Dangerous Science’ Summer School
Ben Fishwick, Joshua Keatley, Daniel Shakeshaft and Alex Segar joined 75 other young people from 18 different schools across the north west onto the University of Liverpool campus to take part in a ‘Dangerous Science’ Summer School. The event aimed to raise awareness and aspirations in relation to higher education and career paths and opportunities open to young people opting for science based courses at University. The programme also gave young people a realistic taste of both the academic and social side of university life.
Pupils were able to tailor the programme to their own interests by choosing from fourteen different academic tasters. These were delivered by Departments including Chemistry, Physics and Vet Sciences; with sessions covering areas including ‘CSI Liverpool’, ‘How Cool Do You Think Science Is? ‘ and ‘How do you think you think?’
‘ I really enjoyed the spending time on campus, meeting new people and finding out more about university life and the options available.’ Daniel Shakeshaft
