Sky Dive for DMD
Mrs Carruthers is raising money in honour of our 4 boys who suffer with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) by jumping out of a plane!
Mrs Carruthers is taking part in the 'Team 100- Make The Day Count' campaign for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign in honour of our 4 boys who suffer with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), at Mosslands.
The campaign is to raise as much as possible into further research into the treatment of DMD to prolong the life expectancy of those who suffer with the condition. They are at the cusp of developing a process called exon skipping which will encourage the production of dystrophin in the muscle cells. This could prolong the ability to walk etc into the 40's and 50's for most sufferers. The link provided the link to the research article for anyone who is interested.

Team 100 is a team of 100 people doing a skydive on the 3rd March to raise funds. 'Make The Day Count' refers to making the leap year day this year count. (The 3rd of March was the closest day they could book the sky dive!!)
Mrs Carruthers has set up a fundraising page which she will keep updated. If you would be kind enough to sponsor her, please follow the link below and click on donate. There is also an option to text your sponsorship. The money goes directly to the campaign.
Thank you so much in anticipation of your support.
