House Boccia Tournament

The first ever House Boccia Tournament was a closely fought battle!

Boccia playersThe first ever House Boccia Tournament was held on 24th May. Eighteen pupils from across the three houses of varying age groups were selected to participate, and what a battle it turned out to be.

Students of many different ages, sizes and abilities were selected to compete for house points and ultimately the main prize, the House Boccia Trophy!

Two very competitive group stages were fought out with the top two teams in each progressing to the semi-final. Here we saw a team from Faraday House up against a team from Ruskin. The other semi-final saw somewhat of a derby match with both Grenfell teams thrashing it out to see who would reach the final!

What a close final it was! A combative and thoroughly hardworking team from Grenfell House were facing a straight shoot off against the on fire Faraday House team!

Boccia House Champions 2012The final finished 8 v 6 in favour of a thoroughly deserving Faraday House team. The triumphant three revelled in their victory as they raised the trophy high above their heads!

It is my great pleasure to say a huge thank you to all the players that took part and battled it out so intensely in what was an enthralling morning. I’m sure all the spectators and staff in attendance would agree, that we cannot wait for next year already!
