Anne McArdle
It is with great sadness that we have to announce the loss of Mrs Anne McArdle, our Chair of Governors.
It is with great sadness that I have to announce the loss of Mrs Anne McArdle, our Chair of Governors who passed away on Friday 2nd November after losing her brave battle against cancer.
Anne devoted a great deal of time and effort to the school in her role as Governor and became Chair of the governing body in 2004. She was immensely influential in steering the school forwards and was a pillar of strength in difficult times. She played a significant role in the most recent Ofsted inspection, where governance was recognised as being a significant strength.
We will all miss her energy and enthusiasm, her vast experience in the field of education and her vigorous determination to get the best for the school and all of its pupils.
The thoughts and prayers of all of our staff and pupils are with her family at this sad time.
In recognition of her family’s requests, all funds raised by the schools Christmas carol service at St Hillary’s Church on Thursday 13th December and the schools’ annual Christmas card competition will be donated to the Marie Curie charity and we would ask you to give these events your full support.
