Nuffield Placement Celebration
Congratulations to six of our students who undertook prestigious Nuffield placements over the Summer holidays
Nuffield Research Placement Celebration Event
We wish to congratulate Alex Segar, Matthew Thompson, Joshua Simpson, Daniel Shakeshaft, Joshua Gardner and Robert Henery, six of our Year 13 A level students studying Science, Technology and Maths subjects who successfully undertook a Nuffield Research Placement during the 2013 Summer holiday. The placements offered students an insight into science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Nuffield Research Placements are highly prestigious and competition for places in 2013 was intense. Mosslands students did incredibly well, with the school gaining six research placement bursaries (the most of any school in Merseyside and Cheshire).
The Nuffield Research Placements offer an opportunity for students to work alongside scientists, engineers, technologists or mathematicians on research projects.
“The celebration event held at the World Museum was an excellent opportunity to showcase the outstanding research undertaken by students. The skills, insights and research techniques they have gained during their placements will help them as they progress further in their studies”. Mr Taylor, Gifted & Talented Coordinator.
Examples of the project titles included:-
- A Retrospective Longitudinal Study of Root Canal Treatment Success in a General Dental Practice.
- The Application of Fully Homomorphic Encryption to Video Transcoding
