The Big Bang

14 students enjoy a fun and educational trip to the Big Bang Fair in Birmingham

What’s the name of the event that goes with a bang?  Well it’s the Big Bang Fair of course and 14 of Mosslands Year 9 went to see it at NEC in Birmingham.  The Big Bang Fair is the flagship event for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics for young people in the UK and regularly attracts crowds of over 75,000 people.

Once inside the cavernous space our students were let loose on the show floor, here they saw the KABBOM! show which featured the Science of Explosions and how they shaped the World , other took a  stomach churning journey into Science of lunch , running ability and long jump prowess was tested in the Body Zone and for the non squeamish fake  blood was taken by the “classroom medics” team.

With the vast range of activities, shows and exhibits on offer, the Fair provided an inspirational introduction to the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) World.  Check out the Big Bang Fair video below.
