As part of the International Festival for Business (IFB) Mosslands pupils attended an interactive careers event held at Aintree Racecourse on Tuesday 17th June.

The aim of the event was to give young people the opportunity to find out about the careers available in key growth sectors of the economy such as the Superport, Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering, the Visitor Economy, Knowledge Economy, Low Carbon, Construction, Digital & Creative, and Health and Life Sciences.

As part of the event Mosslands pupils were able to take part in a wide range of ‘Have A Go’ activities. This allowed pupils to try their hand at a skill, trade, or occupation from logistics and design to media and engineering.

These experiences allowed employers to engage with our pupils to inspire them to reach their potential, and provide a value insight into the education and skill needs of business.

‘I have a keen interest in exploring careers in engineering, and it was great to speak to a wide range of employers and training providers including TTE, Airbus, Jaguar Land Rover and Cammell Lairds to find out about job roles and the skills and qualification required.’ Year 10 pupil.
