After our visit from Morris on Friday, we had a wonderful surprise visit from Barney and his trainer Adam Kocurek, on Monday. Adam has been working with Barney since he left us in July and they have a very successful partnership. Adam will continue training with Barney for approximately another 4 weeks before Barney begins a new partnership with his, hopefully, forever owner.

Barney was very excited to be back in School and made a huge fuss, it was very touching. Barney was really eager to get to our office and had a big surprise when he met our current pup Captain. Needless to say they got on famously, Captain thought it was brilliant to have another playmate. Barney checked every inch of the office and did a thorough investigation of his old toy box.

We took Adam on a tour of the school and, the facilities we have in place for the dogs, and Adam's verdict was that this was a great training ground for the pups. Even when the bell rang when we were standing right next to it, the dogs didn't flinch, which I take for granted but Adam was quite impressed with.

Staff and pupils alike, were thrilled to see Barney again who seemed to have celebrity status around the school, although he took the adoration completely in his stride. Captain didn't mind too much that he wasn't the centre of attention for once!

People always ask how I can give the pups up after having them for a year, and it is heartbreaking saying goodbye, of that there is no doubt. However when I see them again all grown up and doing what they were bred for, changing peoples lives, it is all worthwhile and I am so proud of all of them!
