The Mosslands Junior Chess Tournament came to a dramatic conclusion today when James Holland of 9G1 beat Finley Groom of 7G1 in the final.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The match was tense and evenly balanced when James managed to get Finley into check and managed to take his queen when Finley had to move his king out of the way.

 

 

 

    The damage had been done and          James managed to wrap up the          match quickly after this. Well              done to all the students in Years        7,8 and 9 who took part.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Mosslands Senior Tournament  will take place after Christmas.

 

 

Everyone is welcome to come a  along for a game of chess at  lunchtime in the Crush Hall from  beginners to grandmasters.
