Christmas with a BANG!

Mosslands  Year 7 STEM scholars didn’t have to wait for New Year eve to see fire works

Mosslands  Year 7 STEM scholars didn’t have to wait for New Year’s  eve to see fire works,  attending a lecture at Chester University gave them the opportunity to see how a pyrotechnician sets up a fire  work display.   Never in the wildest dreams did they imagine  that “quantum mechanics” is the foundation for the observable colours in fire works!    Fire works are really a gas (pyrotechnician   joke  there), the  noisy, colourful  and  smelly  display  was stunning  and one that you certainly couldn’t  try at home .  Some of our  students later pronounced it as epic, fantastic, amazing  and  that even the talking was interesting!   However one  student  did  claim he didn’t  normally like Science but today was really good and that STEM was his favourite lesson!
