Important information for Year 11

Important information for Year 11

Friday 3rd May 2019

Dear Parents / carers,

As I am sure you are aware, the exam season is rapidly approaching, indeed for some, it has already begun. In order for us to make the most of the time left before the final exams, we have put together an amended timetable for the remainder of Year 11 which is enclosed with this letter. Lessons will run as shown until Thursday 6th June 2019. After this date, attendance at the revision classes detailed in this timetable is compulsory for all Year 11 students sitting that subject, but where there is no revision class scheduled, students will be allowed home.

Can I urge you to keep a copy of the examination timetable permanently displayed at all times so that you can support your son in getting to all of his examinations in good time and well prepared. Please remember that registration for morning exams start at 8.40am and students must be on time to avoid us making phone calls home. I also ask you to remember that these examinations are supervised by external professionals and therefore students must ensure that they follow all instructions carefully. Failure to attend an exam may result in you having to pay the examination costs and any malpractice reported by the external invigilators may result in disqualification from the qualification.

School will end finally for the Yr.11 boys on Friday 21st June 2019, which is the amended clearing day. On the 21st June, Yr.11 are expected to arrive, in full uniform, for an appointment with their Form Teacher or Head of House. Individual appointments will be organised and sent out to the boys. On the 21st June students will have to bring in any outstanding library books, text books, outstanding monies to the canteen or materials in order that they can be officially signed off. The appointment should last about 15 – 20 minutes.

Results day is on Thursday 22nd August 2019. Students are asked not to arrive in school before 10.00am, after which time the results will be available in alphabetical order from House staff. Also on the 22nd August there will be representation from the 6th Form staff who will confirm offers against results.

The teachers feel that Year 11 are showing very promising signs and we are greatly encouraged by the progress they have made. I would like to wish all the students the very best of luck in the forthcoming examinations and to congratulate them on their preparation so far.

Yours sincerely,

Adrian Whiteley

Headteacher
