Industrial Action - School opening details

Dear Parents and Carers

Update on School opening during industrial action on 1 February 2023

As the extent of the disruption from the planned teachers strike on Wednesday 1 February becomes apparent, we are required to go back to our risk assessment and evaluate how we can operate on that day. As a result of this it is now clear that we will be unable to allow any students from year 7-11 on site on this day. Information regarding remote learning provision for these students will be sent out separately later today.

Year 11 students that have a planned IT exam on Wednesday morning should still attend, arriving at school no later than 8:45am to enable a prompt start for the examination. When the examination is complete, they will be expected to leave the site and make their way home. All other year 11 students should stay at home and take part in remote learning.

The school will be open for Sixth form students as usual, although some of their lessons may be disrupted if their teacher is taking industrial action that day.

It is with regret, that we have had to change our normal operating procedures in light of this planned industrial action however, In making these decisions we have had to consider the safety and welfare of the students above all else.

Kind regards

Adrian Whiteley
