Our Vision and Values
Student Services is an inclusive area that provides wrap-around support for pupils and families who may need extra help when life can feel overwhelming. Our aim is to improve the mental health and wellbeing of those we work with, by enabling them to access the right support at the right time.
We are passionate that all our pupils have high aspirations for themselves, and that they have the opportunities and support to achieve and succeed in school and in life.
How We Support Students
We provide bespoke support both in and out of school, depending on the circumstances of the child and the family. Pupils and families are referred to our services through the pastoral team, and may access one or more of the below:
- One-on-one Mentoring
- Whole year group work – Resilience for Learning, Team of Life
- Targeted small group work – emotional literacy, friendships
- Family support – including home visits, referrals to other agencies
- Mental health and wellbeing support – referrals to other agencies
- Counselling
- Stress management
- Targeted support for Children who are Looked After – including Health Mentoring for Wirral Looked After Children
- Mental Health Support Teams in school (MHST) – including group work and parent workshops
- Safeguarding – including Social Worker in School, attending multi-agency meetings
- Alternative provision
- Referrals to specialist education provisions – including Wirral Hospital School
- Attendance Support
- Reduced timetable support – safe space for pupils not attending full-time education, ie: returning from long-term absence, school-based anxiety, ESOL

Safeguarding concerns
If you suspect a child or young person is at risk of harm, abuse or neglect please report it to the Wirral Integrated Front Door on 0151 606 2008 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday.
Outside of these hours call 0151 677 6557.
In an emergency always dial 999.
Urgent Mental Health Support
If you are concerned about your child's mental health and need urgent support, please call Cheshire and Wirral Partnerships NHS Foundation Trust mental health helpline on the new freephone number 0800 145 6485. This is a 24 hour helpline where staff will support you to access the help you need.
Wirral CYPMHS Advice Line
CAMHS is now know as the Childen and Young People’s Mental Health Service (CYPMHS) service.
0300 303 3157 Monday to Friday, 9.00am-5.00pm
0800 145 6485 for urgent help out of hours.
Staff will support you to access the help you need. The phone line is free to call, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is open to people of all ages – including children and young people.
Foodbank
If you are experiencing difficulties in accessing food:

If successful, you will receive an e-voucher for essential food items at Wirral Foodbank Centres.
You can also contact Mrs Denheyer at Mosslands School who can help issue a food voucher. We also have a small foodbank with limited ambient foods for emergencies.
